Professional coaching certificates will be awarded after successful completion of Units 1-12 of each of three training modules. To earn college credit as eligible, Units 13-16 must also be completed.

 

COACHING/MENTORING MODULE I:

ESSENTIALS AND BEYOND (28 hours)

                                        

UNIT 1:  History and Developments

UNIT 2:  Descriptions, Definitions, & Comparisons

UNIT 3:  Mentoring Matters:  Using Coaching Skills as Mentoring Tools

UNIT 4:  Organizations and Resources

UNIT 5:  Evidence Based Theories and Approaches

UNIT 6:  Ethical Principles and Legal Guidelines

UNIT 7:  Professional Standards & Coaching Agreements

UNIT 8:  Coach Evaluation, Credentials, and Selection

UNIT 9:  Group Coaching: Goal Setting

UNIT 10: The Professional Coaching Relationship-Part One

UNIT 11: The Professional Coaching Relationship-Part Two: Use of Self

UNIT 12:  Mindset

 

**To earn 3 hours Graduate credit (ESW755-Developmental Coaching and Mentoring I) or Undergraduate credit (ESW455), 4 additional training units (8 hours) are required.

UNIT 3: Motivation and Activation

UNIT 4: Processes of Change and Transition

UNIT 5: Mindfulness and Basic Brain Science

UNIT 6: Practicing Emotional Intelligence

UNIT 7: Social Intelligence in Action

UNIT 8: Action Planning with Goals and Values Identification

UNIT 9: Working with Individual Traits

UNIT 10: Cultivating Leadership and Creativity

UNIT 11:  Diversity and Its Implications for Coaching & Mentoring

UNIT 12:  Learning Styles in Motion

UNIT 12: Recognizing Benefits/Limitations of External and Internal
