TRAINING OBJECTIVES

 

In general, and at a minimum, participants in this training will:

  • Increase coaching/mentoring knowledge
  • Gain skills & tools to advance effective practice
  • Complete training related specifically to coaching to earn coaching credentials

Additionally, module/unit specific objectives include:

  • Enhance communication, skills, & tools
  • Articulate the unique goals of coaching/mentoring
  • Identify ethical considerations
  • Obtain knowledge of the history and developments in coaching
  • Facilitate individual understanding of the coaching process through personal experience as coach & client
  • Present research for a specialist coaching/mentoring niche as selected by the participant
  • Understand & describe individual strengths and values brought to coaching/mentoring
  • Learn the technique of brief coaching and relate to coaching examples
  • Integrate the use of self in a personal coaching style
  • Build trust through practicing a professional relationship & boundaries
  • Gain and apply information on creativity, leadership, mindfulness, and other essential coaching principles
  • Increase coaching/mentoring effectiveness
